Here I am going analyze one of the team is Kolkata Knight Riders have been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL over the years, having lifted the title twice since the inception of the league in 2008. Once again, KKR has put together a strong team and they are ready to take the IPL trophy in the 10th of the edition.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Team Strength, Weakness
Kolkata Knight Riders’ biggest strengths; this year’s Vivo IPL auction, the team has got a well-balanced squad with good batsmen and attacking bowlers as well. Led by the maverick Gautam Gambhir, KKR remains a side with Robin Uthappa, Umesh Yadav, Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan, Sunil Narine and Shakib al Hasan all playing together ever since.
- Best batting line up

Kolkata main talented Indian batsmen as apart from skipper Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav. Uthappa and Pathan have been proven match-winners on both the International and the IPL in the previous years, while youngsters like Pandey and Yadav are more than talented middle-order batsmen.
Australian Chris Lynn has been an impact player in the Big Bash League over the years. He already proved himself in his first match.
- Bowling Side
KKR has two spinners in their squad and that in itself makes their bowling department seem very strong. West Indian spinner Sunil Narine has good experience player in IPL played 65 matches so far, Narine picked up a whopping 85 wickets in the league.
Young talent bowler Kuldeep Yadav was a breakthrough star for KKR last term and his four-wicket show in the first innings of the Dharamsala Test between India and Australia showed
Another key spinner Shakib Al Hasan, who has been in incredible form for Bangladesh.
Leggie Piyush Chawla is also there to add an extra dimension to the KKR bowling whenever called upon by Gambhir and coach Jacques Kallis.
Apart from West Indian Darren Bravo, there is no overseas player in the squad who can be called as a proven match-winner as far as batting is concerned.
The absence of Andre Russell big blow for Kolkata team as the West Indian is regarded as one of the best all-rounders in the shortest format of the game.
Although, NewZealand star Colin de Grandhomme has been called in as a replacement for Russell, but Kolkata will definitely miss the services of their best all-rounder.
Previous season IPL 9, Russell was one of KKR’s top performers, having picked up 15 wickets as well scoring 188 runs in 12 matches that he played for the two-time champions.
