Gujarat Lions 2017 Players List | GL IPL Schedule

GL 2017 Team: The Gujarat Lions is a new franchise cricket team debut playing in IPL 2016 and this is its second IPL season. The Gujarat Lions is often abbreviated as GL owned by Keshav Bansal director of Intex Technologies (New Delhi Based Company). The team was one of the two newly introduced teams in IPL as the replacements for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), who have been suspended for two seasons (IPL 9 and IPL 10) due to illegal betting by their respective owners. In the beginning time franchise want to set their team name as Rajkot Titans but after some more changes, they finalized to change the team name to GL because of the Famous Asiatic Lions which are present in Gujarat.

To begin with, five of their batsmen scored more than 300 runs in the tournament, which is something not many teams have been able to do so far. Suresh Raina did his role as the captain, as he was the highest run-scorer with 399 runs. Next in the line were Aaron Finch and Brendon McCullum, who scored 393 runs and 354 runs respectively. Other key players were Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Smith.
